ABOUT US

At Spoken Word Psychology, we are dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards well-being and growth. We understand that life can present us with challenges and sometimes we need professional guidance to navigate through difficult times.

Our practice is committed to providing evidence-based therapy to support you to overcome obstacles, heal from the past, and thrive in all aspects of your life.

OUR APPROACH

We believe in the power of recognizing and building upon the strengths and resources within each individual.

strengths-based

While spoken words hold immense power, we acknowledge that true healing extends beyond words. We recognise the connection between the mind and body and understand that integrating body-centered approaches is essential for holistic well-being.

Emotional experiences are not solely intellectual; they are also felt on a physical level. That is why we emphasize the importance of connecting to the body as an integral part of the therapeutic process.

Through our integrative approach, we go beyond traditional talk therapy to incorporate body awareness practices. We guide our clients in developing a deeper understanding of their physical sensations, emotions, and the ways in which they are interconnected.

Integrative Approach

For clients who have experienced trauma, we provide a trauma-informed approach to therapy. We prioritise safety and trust throughout the therapeutic process, creating a space where clients feel secure in exploring their trauma at their own pace. Our psychologists are trained in evidence-based trauma treatments including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. To learn more about EMDR click below.

Trauma-Informed Care

We view therapy as a collaborative journey and work alongside our clients. We encourage individuals to take an active role in the therapeutic process.

We believe that every individual has unique needs, experiences, and goals, and we tailor our therapy sessions to meet those specific requirements.
